01  —  Your target moves with your day

A rest day and a big day are not the same day.

Snack knows the difference. It pulls today's active burn from Apple Health and sets a target that fits the day you actually had.

Same food both days. The burn is the difference.

02  —  Only the four numbers

Calories. Protein. Carbs. Fat.

The four numbers, and nothing else to chase. No micronutrient spreadsheet, no fields you'll never fill in.

Calories1,847
Protein164 g
Carbs168 g
Fat57 g

03  —  Photograph it or describe it

Better than the number you were about to make up.

Photograph a plate, or describe it in a sentence, and AI fills in the numbers. A stew, or a glass of something clear, is easier to describe than to photograph. It won't be perfect. It'll be better than your guess. The AI is Apple's. Your dinner never reaches us.

Requires Apple Intelligence. Plate photos need iOS 27.

04  —  Private by architecture

We can't sell your data. We can't even see it.

Your health data never leaves your devices, and your food log syncs only through your own iCloud. No Snack server ever holds any of it — nothing to peek at, nothing to leak.

  • Stays on your device
Apple Health data — weight, water, calories, steps, workouts — never leaves your devices, not even for iCloud.
  • Your iCloud only
Your food log and plan sync through your own private iCloud container, not Snack's servers.
  • No account required
No email, no password, no sign-up.

Questions

What's a "net" calorie?
What you eat, minus what you burned moving. Snack reads your active calories from Apple Health, so today's target reflects today — not a number you set once and forgot.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
Not strictly, but the day-to-day adjusting runs on its active calories. Without Health access, Snack uses your activity level for a steady daily target instead.
Why only four numbers?
Because those four are the ones people actually act on. Snack tracks calories, protein, carbs, and fat and skips every other nutrient — fewer taps, nothing important missing.
How accurate is the AI meal estimate?
Honest answer: it's an estimate, and it can be off. But when you're staring down a plate at a barbecue, it beats the number you were about to make up.
Is my data private?
Yes — structurally. Your health data stays on your devices and your food log syncs only through your own iCloud, so there's nothing for us to see or sell. The one bit of our own infrastructure you touch is a food-search proxy that keeps no logs, holds nothing that identifies you, never passes your IP address on, and caches food-database answers for up to a day, keyed only by what was searched.
